Automotive Technicians/ Accessory Fitters

Key Responsibilities

  • Look after light vehicles through scheduled services, maintenance and repair work, finishing each job to the manufacturer's specifications and the workshop's own standards
  • Inspect each vehicle to determine what it needs, using diagnostic tools to track down mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
  • Fit bull bars, tow bars, canopies, roof racks, lighting and other aftermarket gear, working to the manufacturer's fitting instructions and quality procedures
  • Keep your work area tidy, safe and well organised, observing workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Deliver workmanship and customer satisfaction of a consistently high standard
  • Work hand in hand with fellow technicians and management
  • Contribute to an efficient, productive workshop
  • Commit to continuing manufacturer training and professional development

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Qualified Automotive Technician or Diagnostic Technician, or currently undertaking a 3rd or 4th Year Light Vehicle Apprenticeship, with an automotive qualification or apprenticeship that fits the position
  • Experience as an Accessory Fitter, or a strong mechanical aptitude for fitting accessories
  • A track record servicing and repairing light vehicles, plus the skill to diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical faults
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality work, matched by a positive outlook and strong work ethic
  • Good communication and customer service skills, and the capability to perform well alone or with a team
  • A current driver's licence, or the ability to obtain an Australian driver's licence
