Diesel Mechanic

Automotive · Rankins Springs, Wagga Wagga & Riverina NSW, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

Machinery keeps modern Australian agriculture running, and a long-standing farming enterprise in New South Wales is recruiting a skilled Diesel Mechanic to look after it. The position comes with real responsibility for a person who brings dependability, a strong problem-solving record and proven technical ability.

Rather than just clearing routine repair jobs, you will take ownership of how the machinery performs and gain recognition for your expertise. The equipment includes advanced farm machinery, up-to-date fleet systems and innovative agricultural technology, all serving an operation of significant scale.

Through a verified candidate pathway, seasoned mechanics who can show their qualifications, hands-on ability and industry background have the opportunity to establish a lasting career in Australia. For mechanics in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered next move.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for how reliably a varied fleet of farm machinery performs, using your technical knowledge to limit downtime when farming periods are critical
  • Service and maintain equipment preventatively, complete repairs and mechanical improvements, and track down complex faults in tractors, harvesters, sprayers, trucks and further farm equipment
  • Get to operational breakdowns fast and fix machinery onsite in the field
  • Inspect the condition of machines and advise on replacements, upgrades and repairs, keeping service records, repair paperwork and maintenance schedules up to date
  • Oversee workshop organisation, tooling, the availability of parts and maintenance processes
  • Advise and assist machinery operators on technical and operational matters, partnering with farm management to improve how efficiently and reliably the equipment runs

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic or equivalent proven mechanical experience, plus demonstrated experience on agricultural machinery, heavy vehicles or comparable equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability, and the capacity to handle maintenance and repair responsibilities independently
  • A detail-conscious, practical approach to problem-solving, combined with a dependable work ethic and dedication to first-class workmanship
  • Communicates well with operational teams
  • Happy to be based in a regional New South Wales agricultural environment
  • Verified trade qualifications and employment history preferred
  • For sponsorship applicants: English language evidence and skills assessment documents, along with the ability to satisfy Australian migration and sponsorship requirements
