Motor Mechanic

An expanding automotive business is hiring someone ready to own the full cycle of servicing, fault diagnosis and repair, with safety and quality never compromised. Work begins under a 6-month contract; full-time or part-time hours can be arranged, and a permanent role may follow for those who perform strongly.

For technicians currently based in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, this is a considered next step in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Find the root cause of vehicle faults, using testing and inspection to verify each one
  • Repair engines, transmissions, steering and brakes
  • Look after wheel alignment work as well as air-conditioning repairs and servicing
  • Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance as the service specifications set out
  • Work on accident-damaged vehicles and restoration jobs, from inspection and diagnosis through to repair
  • Check each vehicle for roadworthiness, safety and compliance under applicable state regulations, and pick out worn or defective mechanical and electronic components
  • Document all inspections, servicing, repairs and maintenance in detail, and brief management on technical findings, repair needs and likely costs
  • Partner with the vehicle operations team to keep the fleet ready for customer bookings, identifying spare parts required and supporting workshop stock control
  • Run a tidy, well-organised workshop that meets WorkSafe requirements, delivering reliable, careful, high-quality work efficiently whether solo or with colleagues

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Holds a Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology trade qualification that is recognised, or its equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years working professionally as a Motor Mechanic in a relevant setting
  • Practical, demonstrated skill in diagnosing, servicing and repairing vehicles, with the capability to inspect mechanical and electronic systems
  • Holds a current driver's licence
  • Confident English, written and spoken; IELTS Band 6 or above preferred
  • Can clearly communicate technical faults, repair choices and estimated costs
  • Sharp analytical and diagnostic skills, with excellent judgement in solving problems and making decisions
  • Well organised, with good time management
  • A high standard of attention to detail and dedication to quality work
  • Works well independently or within a team, and takes workplace safety and vehicle roadworthiness seriously
  • The right candidate can receive sponsorship / immigration support
