Key Responsibilities

  • Use professional diagnostic equipment to pinpoint electronic and mechanical faults
  • Carry out logbook and routine services, scheduled maintenance and mechanical repairs across many passenger vehicle makes
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections and the associated safety checks, and complete warranty repairs exactly as manufacturers specify
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, repair manuals and other technical information
  • Log finished jobs accurately in the workshop software and tell the service team clearly about any further work a vehicle needs
  • Work to dealership procedures, manufacturer guidelines and workplace safety standards, keeping your work area tidy and efficient
  • Join technical training sessions and stay up to date on emerging vehicle systems and repair methods
  • Cooperate with the wider technician team and lend apprentices a hand where required

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or another recognised equivalent, together with a valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant automotive work on the tools, showing real practical experience in diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repair
  • Comfortable moving between different vehicle brands and models
  • Able to follow OEM procedures and read wiring diagrams and automotive technical manuals
  • Familiarity with manufacturer warranty repair processes is advantageous
  • Skilled in using diagnostic scan tools and workshop management systems
  • Precise, detail-focused workmanship, punctuality, reliability and good teamwork
  • A valid Australian driver's licence, preferably with the ability to drive a manual
  • Documentary evidence of relevant qualifications and employment experience; sponsorship is offered to eligible candidates meeting the role requirements
