Key Responsibilities
- Masonry construction and repair: brick, concrete block and stone laid in mortar beds.
- Precision from plans: interpret drawings and specifications, then verify the finished work with levels, plumb lines and measuring tools.
- Tools and equipment: work skilfully with trowels, levels, mallets, brick saws and power tools, and keep them well maintained.
- Finishing: clean and point joints so surfaces resist the weather and look refined.
- Site conduct: keep the workplace safe and orderly within safety regulations and company policy, prepare areas and handle materials, and work in step with supervisors and other trades.
Requirements & Eligibility
- An established career as a Bricklayer with a solid record on residential, commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Current formal qualifications in bricklaying, or a completed apprenticeship.
- Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques, mortar composition and a variety of bonding patterns.
- Fluency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, with safe and capable use of hand and power tools.
- A sound understanding of building codes, standards and health and safety requirements as they apply in Western Australia.
- A current driver's licence, needed for travel between sites.
- The physical fitness for demanding manual work across varying weather.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and a collaborative approach within a team.
- Desirable: prior custom construction, decorative brickwork or heritage masonry restoration.
- Desirable: current First Aid certification alongside a White Card (Construction Induction Card).
