Cafe Duty Manager

You will switch easily between serving customers, making coffee, serving food, cleaning, supporting stock and the other daily tasks a cafe needs. Rather than looking only at experience, the employer values verified skills, professional conduct, reliability and a positive contribution to the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome every customer and serve them professionally, answering questions about products and the menu
- Take payments and process sales on the till
- Make quality coffee and other drinks, and prepare and pack coffee products as required
- Heat and serve food quickly and efficiently
- Keep cleanliness and hygiene at a high standard, following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements
- Refill shelves, displays and cafe supplies
- Help open and close the cafe and support general operations, keeping work and service areas tidy all day
- Back up colleagues when trade gets busy
- Represent the business professionally in every customer interaction
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous cafe, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred, and practical barista skills are a strong advantage
- A demonstrated ability to deliver consistent, reliable customer service with clear communication and a professional manner
- Works well within a team yet confident handling tasks independently when required
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn new responsibilities, a strong work ethic, reliability and professional integrity
- Good personal presentation and comfort in a busy customer-facing environment
- Available to work both weekend days or at least one Sunday
- Must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements
- Candidates requiring employer-supported sponsorship may be considered
