Sales And Bakery Operations Manager

A busy bakery in Taupo, New Zealand, is searching for a hands-on operations leader who brings proven leadership, customer service and commercial experience. The position reaches well beyond team supervision: you will be relied upon to keep each day organised, protect standards and contribute to how the business performs.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day bakery operations so every shift runs smoothly, handling staffing and responding to operational needs as they come up
- Coordinate and back the team through each shift, leading by example and staying hands-on when it gets busy
- Train and develop staff so service stays at a consistent standard
- Create a strong customer experience that lifts sales performance, and look for practical ways to improve sales, efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Keep a close watch on stock, ordering requirements and product wastage
- Uphold food safety, hygiene and operational standards, and drive continuous improvement throughout the bakery
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in a retail, hospitality, food service or management environment; previous bakery experience will be advantageous
- Proven ability to lead, supervise or support a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A customer-focused outlook and an understanding of sales and business performance
- Reliable, organised and comfortable carrying responsibility, with a hands-on approach to daily operational challenges and the ability to stay effective in a busy, fast-moving workplace
- Ability to provide supporting evidence of relevant employment experience and skills
