Key Responsibilities

  • Run your allocated section, completing daily prep and mise en place and organising the ingredients and equipment needed for service
  • Cook gastro-style and pub-style dishes, moving between gastro dining, functions and pizza service as required
  • Make pizza dough and toppings to the required standard, operating the pizza ovens and managing cooking times well
  • Keep presentation and portions consistent and check food quality throughout service
  • Rotate stock and keep track of ingredient needs
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and cleanliness procedures and maintain professional standards in every part of the kitchen
  • Keep work flowing efficiently through busy periods
  • Communicate clearly with fellow chefs and kitchen staff, and offer practical guidance to junior team members where required
  • Share ideas for menu development and kitchen improvements

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated commercial kitchen experience, including previous work as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable role
  • Strong gastro, pub or similar dining background, plus proven pizza-making experience covering dough preparation and oven management
  • Approximately 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to run an independent kitchen section and keep quality and consistency high through busy services
  • Strong knowledge of commercial food preparation and cooking techniques, with a sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Professional presentation and conduct, with strong written and verbal communication
  • Good organisation and time management, and a dependable, adaptable approach to work
  • Works effectively as part of a team; leadership and mentoring experience desirable
  • Professional references required to verify previous employment and experience
  • Currently based in Australia
  • Able to start within a reasonable timeframe
  • Sponsorship or nomination transfer available for eligible candidates, subject to successful probationary performance and business approval
