Key Responsibilities
- Cook and plate dishes to established quality and presentation standards, keeping taste, portion sizes and presentation consistent
- Complete daily prep and mise en place to suit service requirements, following recipes, cooking methods and operational procedures
- Work efficiently through busy services, adapting to changing priorities
- Support senior chefs and kitchen colleagues to keep service running smoothly
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures, keeping prep areas, equipment and workstations clean and organised
- Check ingredient quality and help with correct food storage
- Support stock rotation and appropriate stock levels while minimising unnecessary food waste
- Contribute to a positive, professional and team-focused kitchen
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience, with demonstrated confidence working in a professional kitchen
- Relevant qualifications and an employment history that can be verified
- Practical knowledge of commercial cooking techniques and food preparation
- A strong commitment to hygiene, food quality and presentation, staying organised and productive under high pressure
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, reliable attendance and a strong professional work ethic
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays
- Must currently be based in Sydney
- Must satisfy applicable Australian immigration and sponsorship requirements; sponsorship available for the successful eligible candidate
