An organised, high-performing kitchen in Belmont, Western Australia, has a verified Cook/Chef vacancy for an experienced professional who is at ease producing fusion-style cuisine.
You will cook across breakfast, lunch and dinner, take ownership of food preparation and quality, and help coordinate the kitchen while broadening your culinary skills.
For chefs currently working in hotel and restaurant kitchens around Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha, this represents a considered next move, and visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, producing authentic fusion-style dishes to set recipes and quality standards
- Get ingredients ready and set up stations before service, making sure knives, pans, scales and other equipment are prepared and to hand
- Read through recipes and adapt ingredients or methods where needed, including reasonable changes to suit customer requests
- Cook and plate efficiently through busy periods, keeping the presentation of every dish attractive and consistent
- Organise daily kitchen work, hand out tasks to the team and help supervise and train kitchen staff
- Brief front-of-house staff on daily specials and other relevant kitchen updates
- Track food stock, anticipate upcoming ingredient needs and help with purchasing and ordering
- Check food for quality and freshness, discarding expired or unsuitable items in line with food safety procedures
- Use commercial cooking equipment safely and effectively
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe and well organised
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional background as a Chef or Cook, with a minimum 2 years of kitchen experience
- Experience cooking fusion-style cuisine, backed by strong knowledge of modern recipes and cooking techniques
- Hands-on experience with grills, fryers, ovens and other commercial kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with baking and pastry techniques
- Leadership ability and confidence in supervising kitchen staff
- Able to juggle multiple tasks at a fast pace, with strong time management and organisation
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation regulations, and the ability to keep food quality and presentation high
- Australian work rights or eligibility for an appropriate sponsored visa, plus willingness to work in Western Australia
