Key Responsibilities
- Cook and plate dishes to the kitchen's established quality standards, keeping presentation and portion control sharp
- Produce consistent à la carte food through busy service periods
- Handle food preparation, stock preparation and general kitchen tasks efficiently
- Move confidently between kitchen sections and take the initiative to keep operations running when required
- Apply food safety, hygiene and workplace health requirements, and keep the kitchen organised, clean and safe
- Help train and develop junior chefs and apprentices
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen brigade and front-of-house staff, contributing to a positive, professional team culture
- Spot ways to lift kitchen efficiency and food quality
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience, including time in a Chef or similar culinary position
- Demonstrated experience preparing à la carte cuisine, with strong practical cooking and food preparation skills
- Understanding of professional standards for food safety and hygiene
- Ability to work independently in a busy kitchen and to show reliable, consistent performance
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities, a professional attitude and a commitment to quality
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior kitchen staff is advantageous
- Willingness to work day, evening and overnight shifts
- English language proficiency
- Australian work rights preferred
- Willingness to relocate to Western Australia; sponsorship is available for the right candidate
