Chef

Hospitality · Canberra ACT, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

The best career moves abroad are made with certainty, not guesswork. A verified hospitality group in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is offering genuine positions for experienced Chefs, and it hires around the individual rather than squeezing people into a fixed title.

Capable Chef de Partie candidates looking to step up, and Sous Chefs who want a settled long-term base, could both be a fit. Kitchens range from restaurant service and busy pubs to grill stations and wood-fired cooking, with quality produce, room to sharpen your technique and a team that prizes consistency, teamwork and growth over time.

Rather than a bare sponsorship listing, this is a clearer, verified pathway with real development, for chefs in Dubai, Doha or anywhere else.

Key Responsibilities

  • Turn out top-quality plates that follow the house recipes and standards, with steady portioning, presentation and flavour
  • Look after your allocated section through prep and service, getting mise en place and ingredients ready each day
  • Rotate across restaurant, pub, grill and wood-fired stations whenever needed
  • Make sure nothing leaves the pass below expectations, and help hold quality steady throughout the kitchen
  • Run a tidy, organised and efficient station in line with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
  • Keep your composure when covers are high, backing up teammates and talking clearly with chefs and kitchen staff
  • Embrace ongoing training and opportunities to develop professionally
  • Contribute to a kitchen culture built on respect, reliability and teamwork

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or in a comparable commercial kitchen role, backed by a recognised culinary qualification and/or substantial hands-on experience
  • Strong command of commercial cooking techniques and food preparation, and the ability to keep presentation and food quality at a high level
  • A track record of working efficiently in a busy professional kitchen, plus a sound grasp of hygiene and food safety requirements
  • Experience with grill or wood-fired cooking is desirable but not essential
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Works well as part of a professional kitchen brigade; dependable, motivated and committed to continuous professional development
  • Suitable candidates must meet relevant Australian employer sponsorship and visa requirements
