A professional hotel kitchen in Queensland is recruiting Chef de Partie professionals who can prove real commercial kitchen experience, own their section and perform reliably under pressure.
Expect variety across restaurant dining, conferences, functions and events. A proven Chef de Partie who shows the required technical ability, leadership and consistency may have the chance to move up into a Junior Sous Chef position.

Key Responsibilities
- Run an assigned section on your own, planning and completing daily prep and mise en place
- Cook and plate food to established quality and presentation standards, consistent across restaurant, event and function services
- Support conference and high-volume food service, along with lunch, dinner, event and other operational needs
- Watch portion sizes, use ingredients efficiently and help with stock rotation and food waste control
- Work well with senior chefs and kitchen colleagues
- Back junior team members and help keep the kitchen positive
- Keep food hygiene, safety and cleanliness high and follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Stay organised and effective through busy services
- Step up to extra responsibilities as your capability grows
- Help the wider kitchen operation run smoothly
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven background as a Chef de Partie or equivalent commercial kitchen professional, holding Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
- Able to operate and manage a kitchen section independently, with demonstrated practical cooking and food preparation skills
- Commercial kitchen experience covering varied service environments
- Understanding of WHS, food safety and hygiene requirements
- Able to hold quality and consistency under pressure, with strong teamwork and communication skills
- A professional, dependable approach to kitchen responsibilities
- Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous
- Australian work rights where applicable; candidates requiring sponsorship may be considered based on individual eligibility
- Able to supply appropriate evidence supporting qualifications and relevant work experience
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and career progression, and willingness to take on greater responsibility based on proven performance
