Skilled chefs working in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha who are ready for a considered next step in their culinary career can join an established hospitality team in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, as Chef de Partie.
You will run a section of your own and collaborate closely with the senior chefs to keep dishes excellent, the kitchen efficient and guest dining at a high level. The employer is after real kitchen capability, consistency and teamwork from someone who lifts a busy professional team.
Candidates with the right skills and experience may also be considered for employer sponsorship and potential PR pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Run prep and service for the section allocated to you, sending out every plate at the expected quality, presentation and portion size
- Back the senior chefs so the kitchen flows smoothly, and bring improvement ideas to team discussions
- Pitch menu and specials ideas built around seasonal and locally available produce
- Coach and assist junior cooks through the day-to-day routine
- Keep food handling, cleanliness and hygiene spotless, in line with food safety procedures and workplace requirements
- Keep tabs on ingredients and stock, report what needs reordering, and help gear up for busy services, functions and special events
- Bring a professional, cooperative and upbeat attitude to a demanding hospitality setting
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training
- Demonstrated experience as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable professional kitchen role, built in a busy or high-volume hospitality setting
- Solid hands-on cooking and food preparation ability, a creative streak and genuine dedication to quality
- A sound grasp of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards
- Able to keep dishes consistent and quality high when service is busy
- Strong communicator and team player, capable of supervising or supporting junior kitchen team members
- Well organised and good at managing time
- Candidates with suitable skills and experience may be eligible for employer sponsorship and potential permanent residency opportunities
