Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia's Goldfields, is home to an established hospitality venue that wants an experienced Chef with proven commercial kitchen skill, dependability and the composure to deliver when service gets demanding.
Your abilities and background will need to be clearly shown and verified. Working beside the Head Chef, you will have a direct hand in food preparation, service standards, kitchen organisation and how the team performs.

Key Responsibilities
- Back up the Head Chef in running the kitchen each day, and lead kitchen operations whenever the Head Chef is absent
- Cook, prepare and plate food that consistently meets set quality standards
- Show practical skill across several kitchen sections, including grill, pizza, pasta and dessert
- Finish prep and mise en place ahead of service and set up stations for efficient delivery
- Keep quality, presentation and portions consistent from first ticket to last, even in high-volume periods
- Keep work areas clean, orderly and fully stocked
- Apply food safety, hygiene and kitchen operating procedures
- Join the daily kitchen briefing and pass on operational requirements
- Collaborate with chefs, kitchen staff and the wider hospitality team, giving direction to kitchen staff when required
- Use time and resources well during service
- Uphold professional conduct, presentation and customer service
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of 4 years as a professional Chef, with demonstrated time in a comparable commercial kitchen
- Demonstrated practical strength across several areas of kitchen production
- Grill, pizza, pasta and dessert experience is highly regarded
- A culinary qualification recognised in Australia or overseas, or industry experience that is demonstrably equivalent
- A strong grasp of preparing and serving food commercially, gained in a busy, high-volume restaurant or hospitality venue
- Capacity to lead or coordinate kitchen staff when required, plus strong organisation and time management
- Clear written and spoken communication, and a dependable, professional attitude to your duties
- Comfortable working on your own while adding positively to the team, and firmly committed to food safety, cleanliness and quality standards
- Current Food Safety certification is advantageous
- Current Safe Food Handling certification is advantageous
- Applicants must satisfy the relevant requirements for employer sponsorship and DAMA nomination
