Chef Manager

Experienced Chefs who have led busy kitchens in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha and are weighing a considered next step may find it in this Chef Manager role, taking responsibility for kitchen operations in a residential aged care environment in New South Wales.

The employer wants a Chef who can demonstrate qualifications, practical expertise and the ability to lead a team while holding consistently high standards, with culinary skill backed by real experience and a professional track record.

Your meals should be nutritious, enjoyable and suited to each resident's individual needs, while the kitchen runs efficiently and meets food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run daily kitchen operations, coordinating food preparation, kitchen schedules and workflow
  • Lead, supervise and support the kitchen team while fostering a positive, professional culture
  • Plan and deliver high-quality meals for residents, adapting them to dietary, nutritional and individual requirements
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures and stay compliant with relevant workplace and food safety standards
  • Check food quality, presentation and consistency
  • Make efficient use of food, equipment and kitchen resources
  • Identify and introduce improvements to kitchen and dining operations
  • Work collaboratively with care and support teams
  • Build respectful relationships with residents, families and colleagues

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A recognised Chef qualification with verifiable supporting documents, and the ability to provide evidence of qualifications and relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated professional Chef experience, including time spent supervising or managing a kitchen
  • A background in high-volume or large-scale catering operations
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
  • Able to produce varied, nutritious, high-quality meals, informed by an understanding of dietary and nutritional requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and an organised, dependable style of kitchen management
  • Previous aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering experience is advantageous
  • Able to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
  • Eligible international candidates can access employer sponsorship
