Key Responsibilities
- Play a hands-on part in day-to-day production and service, including prep, mise en place and general kitchen operations
- Cook modern dishes with a variety of established techniques, bringing sound technical knowledge to every task you are given
- Check food quality so each dish meets the required standard, with consistent preparation and presentation throughout
- Keep the kitchen flowing efficiently before, during and after service, working closely with the team to meet service needs
- Observe food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures, keeping your work areas clean, organised and safe
- Present yourself to a high personal standard of grooming
- Help shape a cooperative, professional kitchen culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent
- 1–3 years of relevant professional kitchen experience, with practical skills you can demonstrate in a commercial cooking environment
- Good working knowledge of varied cooking techniques and preparation methods, plus an understanding of food safety, hygiene and OH&S requirements
- Able to turn out quality food consistently when the kitchen is busy
- Well-developed organisational and time-management skills
- A dependable, professional and well-presented approach, with the ability to communicate and work effectively alongside kitchen staff
- Available for a flexible 7-day and evening roster
