Chef

Hospitality · Tahmoor, Sydney NSW, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

The best next role for an experienced Chef is one that recognises and uses your practical skill, your experience and your ability to perform when the pressure is on, not just another kitchen job.

A busy New South Wales hospitality venue needs a Chef with genuine hands-on experience across several sections who delivers quality food consistently through busy services. You will join a professional team in a modern, purpose-built kitchen, cooking a menu that mixes established favourites with fresh, seasonal dishes. The venue wants proven culinary ability, strong work habits and someone who can become a dependable part of a growing kitchen. For chefs in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh considering their next move, it is worth a look.

Key Responsibilities

  • Get ingredients, equipment and stations organised and ready before service
  • Run several sections, including larder, fryers, pans and grill, cooking classic dishes and seasonal specials to kitchen standards
  • Keep presentation, portion sizes and food quality consistent, adapting meals to customers' dietary requirements where appropriate
  • Check that ingredients are fresh, of good quality and stored correctly, monitoring stock levels and helping order kitchen supplies
  • Rotate stock effectively and keep waste to a minimum
  • Uphold workplace safety, hygiene and food safety procedures and keep the kitchen spotless and well organised
  • Work efficiently through time-sensitive, high-volume services, communicating clearly with other chefs and team members
  • Offer practical ideas for new dishes and menu improvements, and help the kitchen run smoothly in a seven-day trading environment

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven professional experience as a Chef, including hands-on work across larder, fryers, pans and grill
  • The ability to demonstrate genuine culinary work experience that can be verified
  • A strong practical grasp of professional kitchen operations and the ability to keep consistency and quality through busy services
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, hygiene and food safety procedures, plus an understanding of waste minimisation and stock management
  • Able to work on your own while contributing well to the team, with a positive, dependable attitude to your responsibilities
  • Close attention to presentation and food quality
  • Willing to work weekend, evening and day shifts
  • A current Food Safety Certificate
  • Commitment to full-time employment for the required period; sponsorship consideration is available for exceptional candidates after six months of full-time employment
