Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare dishes to a high standard each day, steering the flow of the kitchen from mise en place until service wraps up
- Plan prep so that every service is smooth and punctual, with plating, portion sizes and food quality kept consistent
- Bring fresh ideas to the menu, including seasonal specials and creative concepts
- Apply your understanding of costing, pricing and profitability to manage stock usage, reduce waste and run a more efficient kitchen
- Keep hygiene, food safety and workplace compliance at the required standard
- Coach less experienced cooks, pass on your knowledge and shape a respectful, professional team culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen as a Chef or experienced Cook, supported by either a relevant culinary qualification or a strong proven industry background
- A work history that can be verified, plus the ability to prove your hands-on skills
- Sound understanding of costing, stock control and how a kitchen operates, and the capacity to stay efficient in a busy, fast-moving hospitality setting
- A careful eye for detail, dedication to food quality, a reliable work ethic and professional communication
- Comfortable collaborating with front-of-house and kitchen colleagues, and prepared to relocate to build your career in New Zealand
- Eligible candidates may be considered for employer-supported visa sponsorship depending on their skills and experience and on New Zealand immigration requirements
