  • Coordinate prep and service so the kitchen workflow stays efficient, leading the team through busy trading periods
  • Supervise staff and make sure everyone knows their responsibilities, while training, guiding and mentoring developing kitchen staff
  • Hold food quality, presentation, flavour and portion control to a consistent standard
  • Help plan menus and develop seasonal offerings, bringing creative ideas for specials and menu improvements
  • Keep an eye on stock levels, assist with purchasing and supplier orders, and help control food costs and cut unnecessary waste
  • Make sure food is stored, prepared and handled to required standards, upholding HACCP, food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
  • Oversee kitchen cleanliness, organisation and equipment practices
  • Collaborate with management and front-of-house personnel, fostering a respectful, accountable and professional team environment

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or comparable senior kitchen professional, with a strong background in commercial or hospitality kitchen operations
  • Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery, and the ability to provide evidence supporting your qualifications and professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising kitchen teams, with effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume service periods with confidence, staying calm and organised under pressure
  • Strong practical knowledge of food preparation and presentation
  • Understanding of HACCP, food hygiene and food safety requirements
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities
  • A reliable, proactive, hands-on approach, a strong commitment to quality and consistency, and willingness to take responsibility and contribute to continuous improvement
