Key Responsibilities
- Cook Italian dishes to the kitchen's set standards
- Help prepare pasta, sauces and traditional Italian dishes
- Complete mise en place and the daily preparation list
- Keep taste, quality and presentation consistent on every plate
- Work to recipes, cooking procedures and the directions of senior chefs
- Stay efficient and focused through busy service
- Keep your workstation clean, organised and hygienic
- Comply with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
- Support fellow kitchen team members whenever needed
- Take feedback on board and apply new techniques and procedures
- Show reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude, helping keep the kitchen respectful and productive
Requirements & Eligibility
- A demonstrated interest in, or experience of, commercial cooking, together with a genuine passion for Italian cuisine
- A consistent, reliable approach and a strong work ethic, with willingness to take responsibility
- Able to follow instructions and learn from experienced chefs
- Practical kitchen skills suited to your level of experience
- Previous hospitality or kitchen experience is advantageous
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willing to develop professionally within the Australian hospitality industry
- Candidates with backgrounds ranging from entry-level to experienced may be considered
- Able to supply genuine and verifiable employment or skills information where required
- Must meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
