The employer, an established Australian infrastructure business, will look past titles to the projects you have worked on, the way you operate and the standards you hold on site.
Both drillers and drill trackers are in scope, and anyone with service locating experience is equally welcome. Projects vary, so sound technical judgement, safe decisions and steady workmanship matter throughout.
Sponsorship is on offer to suitable overseas applicants, whether in Dubai, Doha or Muscat, who meet the required skills, experience and eligibility criteria and are committed to building a long-term future in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer the drill rig or follow the bore with tracking gear on HDD work for utility and infrastructure clients
- Read each job's requirements and keep to the approved drilling method
- Keep an eye on bore progress so the site runs smoothly
- Lend a hand with locating services and identifying buried utilities whenever needed
- Take on jobs in power, telecommunications, water, sewerage and gas while holding firm on safety and quality
- Work within the company's procedures, project systems and compliance obligations, and keep job paperwork precise
- Check and maintain the rig and tooling, raise defects quickly and act sensibly on any operational or safety hazard
- Cooperate with fellow crew members, supervisors and others on site, keeping conversation clear and courteous
- Deliver steady, dependable workmanship from one job to the next and contribute to a tidy, professional, safety-minded workplace
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional background as a directional driller or drill tracker, including strong hands-on horizontal directional drilling work
- Documents that evidence your earlier HDD roles and experience
- Appropriate industry qualifications, licences or accreditations
- Experience in service locating is advantageous
- A demonstrated dedication to health and safety at work, matched by a professional attitude to quality and compliance
- A steady, dependable employment record and a strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to contribute within a professional site crew
- Close attention to detail, the discipline to work within structured systems, procedures and documentation, and flexibility as project needs and settings change
- Readiness to move to Australia for a long-term role; overseas candidates whose HDD experience is relevant and demonstrable are encouraged to apply
