Waterproofer / Tiler

A Queensland construction and renovation business needs an experienced Qualified Waterproofer and a Qualified Tiler for its continuing residential and commercial work.

These roles suit people with real technical grounding, practical site experience and a strong focus on quality, who are comfortable evidencing their qualifications, employment history and hands-on ability during recruitment. For trades currently working in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered next move.
Key Responsibilities
- Waterproof balconies, bathrooms, wet areas and structural applications, applying sealants, membranes and related products to project requirements
- Prepare substrates and surfaces so waterproofing systems and tiling both have the right conditions
- Lay floor and wall tiles on commercial and residential jobs, measuring, cutting and setting each tile accurately to the project specification
- Carry out grouting, sealing and fine finishing work
- Read and work from plans, construction drawings and specifications
- Check surfaces and completed applications for compliance and quality, fixing any issues where required
- Work with tilers, builders and other trades, coordinating tiling with waterproofing and other site works
- Comply with WHS requirements, site procedures and relevant Australian Standards, keeping workmanship accurate and professional on every project
- Keep the work area organised, tidy and safe from start to finish
Requirements & Eligibility
- Waterproofer: a recognised Waterproofing Qualification, with a minimum two years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Waterproofer: demonstrated hands-on experience on commercial or residential waterproofing projects, knowledge of building requirements, waterproofing practices and WHS procedures, and the ability to work effectively alongside other construction trades
- Tiler: Certificate III in Wall & Floor Tiling or equivalent, with a minimum two years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Tiler: demonstrated practical wall and floor tiling experience, sharp attention to measurements, detail and finished presentation, and the ability to interpret drawings, plans and specifications
- Tiler: a practical understanding of waterproofing requirements and surface preparation
- Both roles: a valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle, plus a White Card
- Both roles: the ability to provide supporting evidence of your employment experience and qualifications
- Both roles: willingness to complete relevant recruitment and verification checks, and eligibility for employer sponsorship
