Duty Manager

A busy hospitality venue in New South Wales is looking for a Duty Manager whose leadership experience can be clearly shown and professionally verified. The successful applicant will own venue performance, lead people with confidence and deliver a customer experience that stays strong from shift to shift.
Day to day, you will keep operations organised, support your team and make sure the venue meets the expected standards for service, safety and compliance.
Please note this role requires current onshore status in Australia, so it suits experienced hospitality professionals already in the country who are ready for a considered career step in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day running of the venue and the standard of service it delivers
- Supervise hospitality staff so every shift runs smoothly, leading by example and keeping the environment professional and customer-focused
- Help with rostering, staff training and ongoing performance development
- Track customer satisfaction and resolve complaints effectively
- Coordinate stock control, inventory checks and supply orders
- Keep the venue compliant with workplace health and safety requirements, venue rules and relevant licensing obligations
- Support venue promotions, functions and special events
- Review sales activity, staff performance and customer feedback, and give management accurate operational information and reports
- Spot operational issues early and act appropriately to protect service quality
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional experience in hospitality supervision or management, with proven leadership of hospitality teams; relevant hospitality or management qualifications are desirable
- Strong practical understanding of how venues and bars operate
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to make sound decisions at a fast hospitality pace
- Experience with stock management and basic financial responsibilities
- Availability for evenings, weekends and flexible hospitality shifts
- Current onshore status in Australia
- Ability to provide genuine, verifiable evidence of relevant work experience; sponsorship is available for the right candidate
