Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team with confidence, positivity and professionalism, training, guiding and supporting each member
- Plan menus around seasonal produce and residents' preferences, cooking tasty, nutritious and well-balanced meals
- Cater for individual nutritional and dietary requirements
- Present meals to a consistently high standard so residents enjoy their dining experience
- Keep food safety and kitchen hygiene excellent, making sure all kitchen practices meet relevant compliance requirements
- Handle food ordering and supplier requirements, monitoring stock levels and cutting unnecessary waste
- Manage kitchen budgets and spending
- Foster a safe, positive and collaborative kitchen
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised qualification in Commercial Cookery; Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred
- Experience in a Head Chef or senior culinary leadership position
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, together with a strong understanding of hygiene and food safety practices
- Experience developing menus and managing dietary requirements, as well as managing kitchen stock and costs
- Excellent people management and leadership skills, with strong planning and communication abilities
- A passion for exceptional food and service, and a caring, respectful approach to residents
- Able to complete a medical assessment and background checks
- Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check requirements
