The role calls for an experienced manager who blends hands-on hospitality knowledge, team leadership and commercial awareness to keep the property efficient and the guest experience consistently positive. You will be responsible for staff, guest services, property standards and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the full day-to-day operation of the motel, coordinating front office, housekeeping, maintenance and guest service
  • Lead, train, roster and supervise staff, fostering a professional, positive working environment
  • Hold cleanliness, presentation and guest service to a high standard, dealing efficiently with enquiries, complaints and operational issues
  • Track occupancy, bookings, revenue and overall business performance
  • Support budgeting, financial controls and cost management, finding practical ways to lift profitability and efficiency
  • Organise property maintenance, repairs and facility improvements, and manage suppliers, contractors and service providers
  • Develop initiatives that grow bookings, guest satisfaction and business visibility
  • Keep financial, operational and guest records accurate
  • Ensure compliance with workplace, health, safety, hygiene and hospitality requirements
  • Represent the motel professionally with local businesses and tourism organisations, reviewing operations continuously and introducing improvements where required

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A track record managing a motel, hotel or other accommodation, with hospitality operations and management experience that can be verified
  • Proven at leading, training and managing hospitality staff, and well versed in guest service and how accommodation operations run
  • Hands-on use of hotel management systems and point-of-sale software, plus experience in revenue monitoring, budgeting and cost control
  • Strong in customer service, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal dealings
  • Comfortable making independent decisions and owning operational matters, staying organised and detail-focused while juggling multiple responsibilities in a busy hospitality setting
  • Relevant hospitality qualifications are advantageous, and fluent Mandarin or other additional language skills will be highly regarded
  • Ready to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays included
  • Able to supply genuine employment history, qualifications and professional references for verification
  • Must satisfy applicable Australian employment and employer sponsorship requirements
