A professional production bakery in Dubbo, New South Wales, is looking for a Pastry Chef or Bakery Assistant whose experience with cakes, pastries, commercial bakery equipment and food-production standards is genuine and can be shown.
Selection rests on a verified professional history. Your hands-on skills, qualifications and past roles should make it clear that you can handle the demands of commercial bakery work with confidence.
Please note that this opening asks for candidates currently residing in Australia, with eligible applicants potentially considered for sponsorship under the Orana DAMA.
Key Responsibilities
- Weigh out and prepare ingredients for cakes, pastries and the wider bakery range, mixing them precisely on commercial equipment
- Run mixers, ovens, dispensers and other production machines
- Watch baking and production stages closely so products stay consistent
- Work to set recipes, production methods and quality standards while keeping the workflow orderly and efficient
- Put food safety, hygiene, GMP and HACCP requirements into practice each day, keeping work areas clean and hygienic
- Clean and look after bakery machines and production equipment, and safely lift, carry, push and pull materials and products up to 25kg
- Back the broader bakery team in hitting production targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on experience in a commercial bakery, pastry or food-production setting, with a demonstrated ability to make bakery or pastry products
- A relevant baking or food-production qualification is advantageous
- Familiarity with commercial food safety and hygiene practice, including GMP and HACCP principles
- Able to run bakery equipment safely and efficiently
- Close attention to product quality and consistency, working well within a production team
- Physically able to handle loads of up to 25kg
- Currently residing in Australia, and able to supply supporting evidence of relevant qualifications and work experience
- Eligible applicants may be considered for sponsorship under the Orana DAMA
