Key Responsibilities

  • Run daily kitchen operations so service is delivered efficiently, overseeing food preparation, ingredient handling and workflow
  • Cook, plate and present dishes to menu specifications using professional culinary techniques, with consistent quality
  • Check finished dishes against presentation and quality expectations
  • Keep an eye on stock and ordering, reduce food wastage and help control food costs, portions and kitchen efficiency
  • Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and compliance practices, keeping equipment, cleanliness and work areas in order
  • Lead, train and support members of the kitchen team
  • Bring culinary ideas that improve menus and add new offerings
  • Show reliability, professionalism and real commitment to hospitality excellence

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional chef training
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment, with a proven, verifiable work history in culinary skills and professional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage food preparation and deliver consistent service standards, thriving in a fast-paced hospitality setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene procedures and kitchen compliance requirements, plus a good understanding of kitchen operations, inventory control and food costing
  • Background supervising, training or supporting other kitchen staff, with strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
  • A creative approach to food preparation, presentation and menu development
  • Depending on eligibility and requirements, suitable candidates may be supported through a sponsorship pathway
