Experienced stonemasons looking for their next move can step into a full-time position in Queensland that rewards real trade capability, a careful eye for detail and consistently accurate, professional results.
Working across residential and construction projects, you will take measurements and technical plans and turn them into finished stone installations, including benchtops, splashbacks and custom features. The emphasis is on established skills in both fabrication and installation.
For tradespeople currently working in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, this is a considered career step into the Australian construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Study technical drawings and project specifications before any stonework starts, taking precise measurements and calculating material needs
- Cut, shape, polish and finish stone to project requirements and get components ready for installation
- Install benchtops, splashbacks and other architectural features, along with fireplaces, barbecues and custom stone applications
- Inspect finished work for alignment, measurements, finish and overall quality, resolving any measurement, fabrication or installation issues that come up
- Coordinate with other trades and installation crews on project requirements
- Operate specialised stoneworking machinery and hand tools, and keep all equipment in good working order
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at every stage of the job
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised stonemasonry qualification or formal trade training, and a trade certificate in stonemasonry
- A minimum of 3–5 years' relevant professional experience
- Proven, hands-on experience in stone fabrication and installation
- Strong skills in reading technical drawings and specifications, and competence with professional stone cutting, shaping and finishing equipment
- A proven eye for precision, measurement and finishing quality, plus practical problem-solving in fabrication and installation settings
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
- Good physical capacity to handle and install stone materials, and a commitment to safe work practices and professional workmanship
- Able to provide supporting evidence of your qualifications and relevant employment history
