A gastropub about to open in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty is putting together its launch team and wants three experienced Bartenders who combine proven practical skill with a genuine focus on customers.
It suits professionals who can show real bar experience, know beverage service well and perform with confidence when the venue gets busy. Your experience, product knowledge and consistency behind the bar will count for a great deal.
For experienced bartenders currently working in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, joining a new venue from day one could be a considered next move.
Key Responsibilities
- Mix and present a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- Make cocktails to the venue's recipes and standards
- Serve beer, wine and spirits backed by sound product knowledge
- Greet and look after customers in a professional, welcoming way
- Talk with customers confidently and respond to their service needs
- Process transactions accurately through POS systems
- Watch beverage supplies and keep stock levels orderly
- Help with ordering, stock rotation and inventory control
- Keep the bar and service areas spotlessly clean
- Apply responsible alcohol service procedures and follow the relevant New Zealand regulations
- Carry out opening and closing duties as required, including cash handling and end-of-shift procedures
- Work smoothly alongside colleagues during busy service periods
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional bartending experience, including demonstrated hands-on cocktail preparation and beverage service
- Working knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
- Able to supply evidence of relevant employment experience where required
- Strong customer service and communication skills, a reliable, professional approach and the confidence to work in a busy hospitality environment
- Available for evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Applicants must satisfy applicable New Zealand immigration requirements, with sponsorship available for eligible overseas applicants, subject to job check approval and immigration requirements
- Applicants already in New Zealand may be considered for a Job Change or Variation of Conditions where applicable
- Where an English test is required, applicants must meet current Immigration New Zealand requirements or an accepted exemption
