Boilermaker

A trade certificate tells only part of the story; what counts here is the hands-on fabrication and heavy-industry experience behind it. An established industrial operation in Queensland is recruiting a capable Boilermaker for work split between the workshop and remote sites.
You will bring practical welding and fabrication skills, a clear grasp of quality requirements and the discipline to work safely and efficiently around heavy equipment and industrial projects. For experienced Boilermakers on projects in Abu Dhabi, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered next move.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out steel fabrication and boilermaking with the right tools and equipment, cutting, bending, shaping and preparing plates and steel sections
- Weld and fabricate to job specifications, and undertake line boring where required
- Work closely with the leading hand and fabrication crew through production and on site
- Inspect finished work against customer specifications and quality requirements, keeping quality assurance consistent on every task
- Apply safe work practices and established workplace procedures
- Work well on your own or as part of a team, adapting to both workshop and remote-site demands
- Show apprentices practical trade techniques and methods
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Boilermaking trade qualification or equivalent overseas qualification, and the ability to provide evidence supporting your trade qualifications and relevant work experience
- Proven hands-on experience in steel fabrication and boilermaking, gained in mining, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated skills in welding and metal fabrication
- Previous line boring experience is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and quality requirements
- Ability to work Monday to Saturday with occasional overtime, and willingness to undertake remote-site assignments when required
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and pass drug and alcohol screening
- Overseas candidates with relevant qualifications and verifiable industry experience are encouraged to apply
