Qualified Maintenance Fitters and Electrical Fitter Mechanics with the practical skills to keep sophisticated manufacturing running are sought for Australian roles in Kingaroy, Queensland.
This is a step beyond routine maintenance. Your verified trade qualification, hands-on experience and technical problem-solving will be put to work maintaining automated production equipment, responding to breakdowns and lifting equipment reliability, in a professional environment where safety, technical accuracy and dependable workmanship are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Find and fix mechanical faults and breakdowns, and diagnose electrical faults to bring machinery back into operation
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing, inspecting production machinery to catch issues early
- Repair, replace and maintain mechanical components
- Troubleshoot electrical and automated production equipment, including PLC-controlled systems, and use VSDs and related electrical controls where required
- Investigate repeat failures and help drive reliability improvements
- Support planned shutdowns and maintenance projects
- Partner with production teams to cut downtime and keep manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently
- Follow workplace health, electrical, food safety and quality procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement across maintenance
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification or, for electrical positions, a Certificate III Electrical or Electrical Fitter Mechanic qualification
- Electrical applicants: minimum 5 years' industrial electrical experience, plus VSD experience
- Demonstrated maintenance experience in industrial or manufacturing settings, including maintaining automated production machinery and working with preventative maintenance programs
- Strong hands-on fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- PLC experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens preferred
- Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence
- High Risk Electrical Work Licence desirable; MEX or similar maintenance management system experience also desirable
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Able to communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams, and to work independently while contributing to a team
- Available to work rotating 12-hour shifts, covering days, nights and weekends
- An Australian-recognised trade qualification is required for sponsorship consideration
- Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified candidates who are already based in Australia
