A permanent, full-time role is open for an experienced MIG Welder at a busy trailer manufacturing operation in Rocklea, Brisbane. The employer wants a hands-on tradesperson whose real-world experience goes beyond welding to include trailer fitting and the assembly and installation of mechanical and electrical components.
You will help build trailers from structural fabrication right through to final system checks, so accuracy, consistency and practical problem-solving matter at every stage.
For welders in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered next move.
Key Responsibilities
- Check drawings, measurements and welding specifications before starting, then MIG weld steel trailer frames, chassis and related components
- Prepare, position and assemble fabricated sections of each trailer
- Fit braking, suspension, chassis and other trailer components, along with accessories and customised features
- Install hydraulic, electrical and air systems where required, testing them before the job is signed off
- Use measuring equipment, hand tools and welding machines correctly, and inspect weld integrity, dimensions and the quality of the finished assembly
- Flag and report any components, materials or workmanship that do not conform
- Keep workshop practices safe and organised, coordinating with production colleagues to keep work flowing
- Finish every job to the required production, safety and quality standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of practical welding experience, including strong MIG welding capability on steel
- Previous experience in trailer manufacturing or trailer assembly, with a hands-on understanding of trailer braking, suspension and chassis components
- Able to work from technical drawings and blueprints, and competent with workshop tools and measuring equipment
- Experience with electrical, hydraulic or air trailer systems is advantageous
- Able to demonstrate genuine hands-on trade experience
- Consistent workmanship, strong attention to detail and a safety-conscious attitude in manufacturing
- Reliable with attendance and production responsibilities
- Welding certification is advantageous but not essential; sponsorship available for suitable candidates
