The employer is after an established poultry professional with a demonstrable production record, someone who understands that strong outcomes depend on disciplined husbandry, accurate monitoring, effective biosecurity and capable people management. Key Responsibilities
- Take overall charge of the breeder farm's daily operation and results
- Direct flock activities in keeping with established production procedures
- Follow bird health, flock performance and production indicators closely
- Apply proven husbandry techniques so breeder stock stays high-quality
- Enforce rigorous biosecurity, hygiene and disease-prevention routines, and uphold animal welfare requirements without exception
- Lead, coach and supervise farm employees, allocating people and coordinating the day's activities
- Diagnose production issues and introduce practical corrective action
- Maintain precise farm records and operational documentation, and compile reports covering flock performance and farm operations
- Identify where productivity, efficiency and consistency can improve
- Partner with senior management to deliver agreed production objectives
- Foster accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement across the farm
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of 5 years' hands-on poultry production experience
- Demonstrated experience managing or supervising poultry farm operations, along with strong practical knowledge of breeder poultry production
- A sound grasp of husbandry and flock management in poultry
- Knowledge of animal health, disease prevention and biosecurity, together with an understanding of animal welfare standards and industry requirements
- A proven capacity to lead, supervise and develop farm staff
- Strong planning, organisation and time-management, matched by strong communication and reporting capabilities
- Capable of interpreting production data, identifying performance issues and showing a demonstrated ability to resolve practical farm-level problems
- A proactive attitude to improving production performance and a commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity and quality standards
- Ability to demonstrate and verify relevant employment experience and technical capabilities
- Willingness to relocate to NSW; sponsorship is offered to the right candidate
