Key Responsibilities
- Interpret building plans, drawings and specifications, then set out brickwork precisely before construction starts
- Mix mortar to the right consistency and lay bricks and blocks to the specified lines and levels
- Check alignment and accuracy as you go with spirit levels and measuring tools
- Run brick cutting machines and other trade equipment
- Finish every wall with close attention to quality, correcting any alignment or workmanship faults
- Comply with construction procedures and site safety rules
- Cooperate with supervisors and other trades to complete assigned work efficiently and on schedule
- Keep your tools, equipment and work area in sound condition
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Bricklaying trade qualification at minimum Certificate III or equivalent, with evidence available to support your qualifications and work experience
- Proven professional bricklaying experience and solid practical knowledge of residential and commercial construction
- Able to read and make sense of construction plans
- A record of producing accurate, consistent brickwork, with competence using brick cutting equipment, levels and measuring tools
- Awareness of health and safety practice on construction sites
- A dependable, professional and committed work ethic, working well alone or within a construction crew
- Physically able to carry out bricklaying duties
- Overseas-qualified Bricklayers with suitable experience are invited to apply; sponsorship is available for suitable candidates once qualifications and experience are assessed
