Tradespeople who have handled fit-outs and renovations across Dubai, Doha or Muscat may find a practical next move in the Pilbara. A hands-on construction and renovation role is open in Western Australia for an experienced Carpenter & Cabinetmaker with a wide practical skill set.
The employer wants someone whose completed work shows breadth across carpentry, not experience in just one area. Projects range across renovation, installation, fit-out and maintenance, so your skills will be put to use in many settings. Dependability, good organisation and confidence in owning your work matter, as does working smoothly with other trades. A readiness to learn, improve and tackle new challenges is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver carpentry on residential and commercial renovation projects, including bathroom renovations and refurbishments
- Install kitchens and complete cabinetry projects, measuring, cutting, assembling and fitting cabinetry and timber components
- Complete residential and commercial fit-outs
- Handle general carpentry, building maintenance and roofing-related carpentry
- Build and install fencing and other outdoor structures
- Interpret plans, drawings and measurements, choosing the right materials, tools and methods for each job
- Coordinate with other trades and the wider project team
- Manage your own allocated work and meet agreed project requirements, solving site issues practically as they come up
- Achieve a high standard of workmanship, accuracy and finish
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas safe and organised, following workplace health and safety procedures
- Conduct yourself professionally on customer and commercial sites, adapting to different projects and changing requirements
- Help projects run efficiently and support continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 4 years of carpentry experience after completing your apprenticeship, with proven practical experience across several areas of carpentry
- Solid experience in cabinetmaking and kitchen installation
- Experience completing domestic and commercial fit-outs
- Experience with roofing and fencing will be highly regarded
- Able to demonstrate genuine hands-on trade experience
- Confident working on your own without constant supervision, and effective alongside other trades and contractors
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with good problem-solving and attention to detail
- A reliable, motivated and professional work approach, and a willingness to upskill and broaden your trade capabilities
- A full Australian driver's licence
- Your own carpentry tools
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Valid Australian work rights or eligibility for an appropriate sponsored visa; overseas applicants may be considered for visa sponsorship based on verified trade experience, qualifications and overall suitability
