This is not routine servicing. You will partner with site maintenance crews and draw on deep Caterpillar knowledge and sharp troubleshooting to uncover root causes, propose fixes and raise the standard of maintenance practice, so that mining operations get more reliable, more available and more productive machines. How much of the work is advisory and how much is hands-on depends on what each operation needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Pinpoint faults on Caterpillar heavy mobile equipment, using fault-finding to keep downtime to a minimum
- Investigate performance issues and settle on the right corrective actions
- Act as the specialist technical resource for site maintenance personnel
- Inspect equipment, assess its condition and flag potential reliability concerns
- Support the planning and rollout of preventative maintenance, plus component replacement and planned maintenance activities
- Give technical assistance on warranty-related matters
- Recommend maintenance improvements and feed technical input into fleet optimisation initiatives
- Seek out ways to lift reliability, availability and operating efficiency, joining continuous improvement projects across customer operations
- Step in with hands-on technical support whenever operations require it
- Keep service and technical records clear and accurate, help with technical training and knowledge transfer, and build good relationships with customers and site teams
- Meet site safety requirements, procedures and environmental standards while working FIFO rosters and extended shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or an equivalent international qualification
- A demonstrated history of maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment, built in mining, field service or large-scale equipment maintenance
- Strong hands-on Caterpillar machinery experience is highly regarded
- Advanced skill in diagnostics and fault-finding, able to analyse equipment problems and put forward effective solutions
- A sound grasp of equipment reliability principles and preventative maintenance
- Comfortable blending technical advisory duties with hands-on work, whether working alone or within a maintenance team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a professional manner with customers and stakeholders
- Prepared to work FIFO rosters and 12-hour shifts, with a firm commitment to safety and compliance in remote mining environments
- High-risk work licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights advantageous
