Climbing Arborist

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out climbing work on commercial, rural and residential sites, from tree reductions and technical removals to rigging and controlled dismantling
  • Ascend and operate safely at height with professional arboricultural gear
  • Run specialist machinery and equipment and keep it well maintained
  • Contribute to major commercial tree projects as well as smaller residential tree care jobs
  • Work to the planned methods and site safety rules for each job, partnering with ground staff so projects wrap up efficiently
  • Look for ways to keep existing trees and vegetation in place
  • Attend emergency tree call-outs when needed
  • Take part in regular paid training and keep every finished job at a professional standard

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A Level 3 or 4 Arboriculture qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant professional experience as a climbing arborist, with competence in climbing, rigging and technical removals and the ability to handle climbing operations with minimal supervision
  • Class 1 driver's licence essential, with a Class 2 or Heavy Transport licence advantageous
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • An honest, dependable and motivated approach on the job
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
  • Suitable candidates can access employer-supported work visa sponsorship, and international applicants holding relevant qualifications and experience are welcome
