CNC Operator /Craftsman

The products are plywood kitchens, cabinetry and furniture, made by combining traditional joinery craft with CNC production and Lean manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines to produce cabinetry and furniture, preparing and machining parts precisely to specification
- Put together and finish cabinets and furniture products, then inspect them for quality and accuracy
- Identify issues on the production line and contribute to solving them effectively
- Hold a consistent standard at every stage of production and take responsibility for completing your work as required
- Lend a hand with installation work when needed
- Maintain a tidy, organised and efficient workshop
- Work to established production, quality and safety procedures, putting Lean manufacturing and 3S principles into practice
- Suggest process improvements and reduce unnecessary waste
- Contribute effectively as a production team member, helping maintain high productivity and workmanship
- Grow your understanding of CNC equipment and production systems by taking part in training and continuous-improvement initiatives
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on experience in CNC machining, joinery, cabinetmaking or furniture manufacturing
- A demonstrated record of precise, high-quality output and close attention to detail
- Dependable and consistent at work, with a strong sense of personal accountability and responsibility
- Good practical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with limited supervision
- Eager to learn new systems, processes and equipment, and receptive to feedback and professional development
- Familiarity with HOMAG, WoodWOP, IMOS or other CNC platforms is advantageous
- Trade experience gained overseas is welcome
- Trade experience in New Zealand is not mandatory
- A current New Zealand manual driver's licence
- Capable of driving a long-wheelbase manual van
- Prepared to finish the required Lean training ahead of a practical trial; visa sponsorship may be considered for eligible overseas applicants
