Coded Welder

Western Australia's industrial sector has a long-term opening for an experienced Coded Welder able to take on demanding maintenance and fabrication work. Expect variety: fixed plant maintenance, structural fabrication, repairs and modifications, plus shutdown and breakdown activities.
The role is designed for tradespeople who can show genuine hands-on experience, recognised qualifications and the technical capability to meet coded welding requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out coded welding on structural steel and pressure pipe, including 6G welding and fabrication to required standards
- Repair and modify fixed plant equipment, including pumps, thickeners and other industrial plant
- Fabricate and repair ductwork, tanks, chutes, hoppers and piping
- Fix structural supports and swap out damaged or worn components
- Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance, respond to corrective and breakdown needs, and take part in shutdowns and scheduled maintenance campaigns
- Undertake fabrication in both workshop and on-site settings
- Keep every task accurate, safe and high in quality, following site safety procedures and required welding standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated background as a Coded Welder with a strong practical welding and fabrication record
- Able to successfully complete a 6G weld test
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Engineering Trade qualification, with evidence of relevant qualifications and trade experience
- Fixed plant maintenance experience is highly desirable
- Verifiable employment history in welding and fabrication
- Current Working at Heights and current Confined Space certifications, both obtained within the previous 2 years
- Current driver's licence and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship
