Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker

A specialist equipment services business is recruiting an experienced Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker with solid, hands-on command of mechanical, hydraulic and equipment maintenance. Your background should be clearly supported by qualifications and a relevant employment history.
Expect variety: crushing, processing, quarry and mining equipment, with maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs and field servicing split between the workshop and customer sites in metropolitan, regional and remote areas. For fitters and boilermakers working on quarry and plant projects in Saudi Arabia, Oman or the UAE, it is a considered next move.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain crushing and processing plant, both mobile and fixed, carrying out mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance
- Work out what is wrong with equipment and what repairs it needs
- Use schematics, manuals and technical information to pin down hydraulic faults, and test hydraulic pressure and flow
- Fault-find 12V and 24V electrical control systems, reading the electrical schematics and checking voltage and continuity
- Complete inspections and pre-delivery preparation, applying OEM specifications and approved maintenance procedures
- Head out to customers in metropolitan, regional and remote locations for on-site servicing and technical help, including travel to regional sites when required
- Note the condition of each machine, flag recommended remedial work and prepare technical service and condition reports
- Log inspections, repairs, settings and testing accurately, photograph finished maintenance and repair work, and explain equipment issues and completed work directly to customers
- Follow safe working practices in both workshop and field settings
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification in Fitting, Boilermaking or a comparable mechanical trade that is relevant to the role, plus at least 2 years in industry since completing training
- A proven background on quarry or mining fixed plant, with relevant practical time on crushing and processing machinery
- A demonstrable record of mechanical maintenance and repair work
- Hands-on knowledge of hydraulic systems and how to diagnose their faults, plus confidence reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics and electrical schematics
- Competence in basic electrical testing on 12V and 24V systems
- A trade work history and experience that can be shown and verified
- Full unrestricted C Class Driver's Licence
- Desirable: HR Licence. Also desirable: Forklift Licence
- Physically able to handle manual and field-based work, and prepared to work in metropolitan, regional and remote locations
- Capable of passing a pre-employment medical as well as Drug and Alcohol screening
- A self-starting, proactive attitude, strong mechanical problem-solving, good customer service and communication, and professionalism when dealing with customers and site teams
