Disability Support Worker

Trust, consistency and person-centred care sit at the heart of this role for an experienced Support Worker. The aim is to pair a capable, verified care professional with a participant who needs dedicated support to strengthen independence, communication and everyday living.
You would give structured help to a young participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), creating a safe, encouraging environment in which confidence, personal development and progress can grow.
The position is in New South Wales, Australia, with flexible shifts covering daytime and after-school hours. Sponsorship is available for eligible international applicants who show proven experience, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to disability support. For carers working in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered next step.
Key Responsibilities
- Give dependable one-on-one support shaped around the participant’s routines and individual needs, building a respectful, trusting and consistent relationship
- Encourage independence through daily activities and skill-building, and support involvement in meaningful activities that lift confidence and engagement
- Respond to communication challenges and to sensory or behavioural needs, using positive support approaches and suitable redirection strategies where required
- Follow care instructions and Behaviour Support Plans closely, noticing changes in behaviour and responding with patience and professionalism
- Keep families, carers and the broader support network clearly informed
- Write accurate shift notes, reports and any other required documentation
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in disability support or a comparable care setting, including demonstrated work supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Experience with participants who need behaviour management and communication support, and the confidence to put established care plans and support strategies into practice
- Strong English skills, communicating clearly in professional settings
- A compassionate, patient and understanding attitude to disability care, backed by a dependable commitment to consistent participant support
- Capable of working independently while contributing positively to a support team
- Relevant qualifications or practical disability support experience preferred; sponsorship opportunities are available for suitable verified applicants with the required experience and skills
