Electrical Linesman and crane/borer oprator

Australia’s electrical infrastructure sector is calling on experienced powerline professionals, and this could be your next move. Roles are open in New South Wales for Distribution Linesmen, Transmission Linesmen, Transmission TAs and Crane Borer Operators.
Candidates need experience that can be clearly shown and verified in overhead distribution, transmission, pole construction, stringing, structural work or plant operation.
Experienced overseas candidates are supported, and where required, extra training can be provided to bring existing qualifications into line with Australian standards. Whether you work on power networks in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar, it is a career step worth considering.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out overhead electrical distribution construction, installing and maintaining overhead infrastructure
- Dress, stand and replace power poles
- String mains and conductors, and complete conductor stringing work
- Build transmission lines, dressing and erecting transmission poles and H structures
- Help construct and erect towers
- Climb electrical transmission structures
- Interpret network drawings and line diagrams
- Inspect electrical transmission assets
- Recognise hazards and solve problems on the job
- Handle supporting and ancillary linework
- Operate crane/boring plant where authorised
- Work to safety and quality procedures and contribute productively within crews and site teams
- Travel between project locations as required
- Accept occasional away-from-home assignments
- Work overtime when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in overhead electrical work, including relevant distribution or transmission linework
- Able to demonstrate your technical skills and previous work experience
- Construction White Card
- Driver’s licence
- Strong workplace problem-solving ability paired with a reliable, team-focused attitude
- Able to work safely as environments change
- Willing to travel for projects and to undertake short-term away work
- Certificate III ESI in Transmission and Distribution Overhead preferred
- Work at Heights preferred
- CPR preferred
- Dogging preferred
- Rigging preferred
- High Risk Work Licence preferred
- Relevant overseas qualifications will be considered
- Able to undertake further Australian-recognised training where required
- Sponsorship is available for suitable applicants
