Event and Commercial Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Lead major sporting events end to end, steering each one from initial planning through to delivery
- Look after sponsors, partners, contractors, suppliers, volunteers and wider stakeholders, growing productive community and commercial partnerships
- Drive sponsorship activation, uncover new partnership opportunities and find ways to lift participation, revenue, event quality and stakeholder experience
- Organise staffing, volunteers, contractors, logistics and event-day operations
- Partner with marketing teams on event promotion and communication
- Support Race Directors in delivering State Series and Championship events
- Direct operational activity during live events, making confident calls and solving issues practically as they arise
- Keep track of deadlines, resources, logistics and competing priorities
- Contribute to strategic projects that support organisational growth, applying proven event management knowledge to keep improving delivery
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in professional event management or a related field; relevant event management experience is essential
- Proven ability to coordinate and deliver events successfully, with a track record of taking ownership and achieving practical outcomes
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including experience engaging with sponsors, partners, suppliers or external stakeholders
- A commercial mindset grounded in an understanding of revenue and business growth
- Excellent planning and organisation, close attention to detail and strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while managing multiple projects and priorities at once
- A confident leadership style and a willingness to be hands-on
- Strong focus on the experience of customers, members and the community
- Flexible availability for occasional weekend and extended event hours
- Willingness to work in Western Australia; sponsorship available for eligible candidates
