Key Responsibilities
- Look after livestock every day, preparing and handing out feed in line with production schedules
- Keep a close watch on animal health and wellbeing and raise any concerns without delay
- Move and handle stock safely during routine movements and inspections, and help with livestock processing and quality assurance work
- Uphold strong farm hygiene and biosecurity, cleaning facilities, work areas and equipment by approved procedures
- Drive farm vehicles and run machinery as your training and licensing requirements allow
- Handle general upkeep of the property, such as mowing and weed control, and check and service farm equipment so it operates safely
- Fill in the daily records and keep supervisors clearly informed
- Pull together with the team to reach production, safety and animal welfare goals
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in farming, livestock, agriculture, construction, landscaping, manufacturing, warehousing or another physically demanding industry is an advantage but not essential
- Happy to work outdoors whatever the weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour across the whole workday
- A positive attitude
- Keen to learn new skills
- Strong communicator who works well in a team
- Committed to animal welfare standards and safety at work
- Reliable
- Available for rotating rosters that include weekends and public holidays
- A current driver's licence is desirable
- Eligible for Australian visa sponsorship
