Key Responsibilities
- Fit and replace fire-rated doors and door sets, and repair or adjust existing fire doors
- Carry out fire door maintenance along with compliance-related works
- Install passive fire penetration protection systems, completing fire stopping and penetration sealing
- Rectify defects and handle the associated carpentry
- Deliver scheduled service and maintenance work, and support new construction and installation projects
- Work from plans, drawings, specifications and installation instructions, in line with Australian Standards and manufacturer requirements
- Check finished work for quality and compliance, keeping accurate records of completed jobs and site details
- Observe workplace health and safety procedures
- Keep communication clear with clients, supervisors and project personnel
- Move efficiently between commercial, residential and industrial environments
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in carpentry, fire protection, fire doors or a related trade, with genuine evidence available to support your previous employment and trade experience
- Strong practical skills, attention to detail and an understanding of quality and compliance requirements
- Able to identify problems and put practical solutions in place, and to interpret plans, specifications and technical instructions
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a professional team
- A reliable, responsible approach backed by professional communication and client-facing skills
- Current Australian driver's licence, or the ability to obtain one where applicable
- Construction White Card
- A relevant carpentry or trade qualification, as well as previous passive fire protection or fire door experience, is highly regarded
- Able to meet applicable sponsorship and visa eligibility requirements
