Key Responsibilities
- Direct the front-of-house crew and take charge of the entire floor each day, so guests find the room efficient and welcoming
- Work hand in hand with the chef and senior management, and back the management team in running the venue day to day
- Assign duties across the team and keep service moving so every table is looked after to a high, consistent level
- Oversee staff on shift, sort out operational problems as they surface, and make sure workplace policies and procedures are followed
- Coach the team and develop each member to the expected service standard
- Hold the restaurant to high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
- Watch stock and keep stock records precise, deal with suppliers on orders and plan around what is seasonally available
- Safeguard the authenticity and quality of the Italian dining experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of relevant restaurant management or floor management experience
- Sound grasp of Italian cuisine, food and products; an Italian background or strong knowledge of Italian dining culture highly regarded
- A history of leading and overseeing hospitality staff, showing strong team management and leadership capabilities
- Excellent people and guest-service skills, driven by a commitment to an exceptional customer experience
- Effective at training, motivating and coordinating employees
- Excellent organisation and time-management, keeping composure and order when the restaurant is busy
- Knowledge of workplace, hygiene and food safety standards, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to commence on a part-time basis with potential progression to full-time
