Christchurch, in New Zealand's Canterbury region, offers a practical gardening role for someone with genuine experience keeping outdoor spaces at a professional standard.
The work asks for more than ticking off tasks. You will need hands-on knowledge, careful use of equipment, consistently good results and the ability to keep grounds attractive, safe and well presented.
Applicants with clearly demonstrated gardening experience and a dependable work ethic are encouraged to apply, including landscape and grounds staff now in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha. Sponsorship is available for eligible applicants who meet the relevant requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Look after lawns, garden beds, paths and shared outdoor spaces, keeping them to the expected presentation standard
- Mow, trim, prune and carry out general grounds upkeep on a regular cycle, with planting and fertilising as required
- Drive ride-on mowers and handle line trimmers and other garden machinery, always following safe work practices with tools and equipment
- Walk the grounds to spot routine maintenance needs, and complete assigned tasks dependably
- Keep machinery and work areas properly maintained and tidy
- Liaise with internal teams and outside contractors when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven hands-on experience in gardening or grounds maintenance, including the demonstrated ability to complete routine tasks on your own
- Experience driving ride-on lawn mowers and using line trimmers
- A sound grasp of basic garden, lawn and plant care, and the ability to use tools and machinery safely
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent work quality
- A reliable, responsible and professional attitude, with good written and verbal communication
- Able to work effectively alone and as part of a team
- Availability for casual weekday shifts
- Willingness to complete required police vetting and other employment checks; you must meet applicable New Zealand employment and sponsorship requirements
