General Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry overall accountability for the property and the commercial results it achieves
  • Head up the opening and initial operational build of the new venue
  • Put robust systems, workflows and service benchmarks in place right from the start
  • Mentor and back each department head so their teams hit operational targets
  • Grow a workplace culture where people own their work, collaborate and deliver outstanding service
  • Make certain guests receive a dependable, high-calibre experience from arrival to departure
  • Direct rooms, guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping and maintenance
  • Keep a close eye on the numbers, including revenue, labour efficiency and running costs, drawing on data and operational insight to lift results and guest satisfaction
  • Anticipate problems before they grow and introduce practical remedies
  • Make sure every department stays in close contact so the operation runs seamlessly
  • Invest in staff engagement, training and career development
  • Lead by example on the property's values and guest relationships, pushing for continuous improvement without losing consistency

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven senior-level experience managing hospitality, accommodation or lifestyle-focused properties, backed by measurable business results as a hospitality leader
  • A demonstrated record of leading teams that span several departments and of handling complex operations
  • Experience creating teams, processes and service standards in a fast-moving setting, while blending hands-on leadership with strategic business planning
  • Sound grasp of accommodation operations, guest experience management and the drivers of profitability, together with experience in budgeting, forecasting, labour management and cost control
  • Strong communicator able to influence and motivate diverse teams, and a confident decision-maker who tackles operational challenges practically
  • Food and beverage leadership experience is highly regarded
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, travel, people and memorable experiences
