Key Responsibilities
- Talk each client through what they want, suggest the right services, and then deliver top-quality hair, barbering or beauty work in your specialist field
- Cut, blow-dry and style for both men and women, including hair-up work
- Take on all colour services: roots, global colour, foils, lowlights and highlights, as well as toning, balayage, ombré and colour correction
- If qualified, carry out smoothing treatments such as keratin, nanoplasty and Hair Botox, along with perming, straightening and other chemical work
- Offer men's grooming and barbering where it applies
- Perform facials, waxing, threading and other beauty treatments, plus lash and brow services such as tinting and extensions where qualified
- Advise clients on professional products and suitable home-care routines
- Uphold strong standards of cleanliness, hygiene and workplace health and safety
- Make every visit welcoming and professional, nurture lasting client relationships and present yourself and conduct yourself to a high standard
- Cooperate with the wider salon team when things get busy, and stay up to date with your technical knowledge and professional skills
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred
- A relevant industry qualification and/or demonstrable salon experience at a professional level, and the ability to supply evidence of qualifications and experience when required
- Proven technical skill suited to the role you are applying for, including practical command of modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques
- Genuine hands-on experience in the industry that you are able to demonstrate
- Strong consultation and communication skills with clients, plus excellent people and customer service skills
- Well presented, reliable and professional, able to work on your own while playing an effective part in a team
- Dedication to quality, hygiene and professional standards, and a passion for a long-term hair and beauty career
- Current New Zealand work rights or eligibility to obtain an appropriate work visa
- Overseas applicants holding relevant qualifications and professional experience are welcome, and eligible overseas professionals can be sponsored
